Cinco de Mayo Tablescape

A bright and colorful Cinco de Mayo tablescape seemed like just the thing to share today.  This tablescape was the last one I set in our condominium in Florida before moving into our current home. I am ready to indulge in some delicious Mexican food!

Each place setting was topped with a small pair of toy maracas.

If I was going to host a Cinco de Mayo party this year, I would go with these fun plates!

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta colored plates

I was torn between staying with the color scheme of the Mexican flag and going all fiesta colored, but I found these fun dishes at Walmart, and knew I was going to incorporate the bright colors. These set a festive tablescape for the evening and added that bright pop of color I was going for.

Cinco de Mayo Centerpiece

Of course I will serve margaritas, so I added margarita glasses and water glasses to my table.  Bright green square plastic dishes set the scene and stood in for chargers. Which would you go for? Strawberry margaritas or classic margaritas?

When I saw this fun red tray by Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart, I knew this would be the base for my centerpiece.  These tiny pinatas can be found on Amazon!  One is a little donkey and the other is a bull.  I added some tiny colorful bottles and used one bunch of inexpensive silk flowers, tucking some into the bottles and nestled the rest around the feet of my pinatas. If you are looking for a fun red tray, you could try this one!

Cinco de Mayo Table

Red salad plates topped my colorful dishes which each held a green napkin folded into a square.  On top of the napkins I tucked a pair of cute toy maracas or an artificial pepper.  I have a few days still to hunt for some tiny sombreros which is what I thought would make adorable place cards.  The table is set and colorful baskets are lined with bright yellow napkins ready to be filled with crunchy chips to enjoy along with the other Mexican specialties.  With icy margaritas what could be better?  Wishing you a happy fiesta!

I hope you celebrate and perhaps set a fun Cinco de Mayo tablescape and nosh on chips and salsa!
