Home Decor Ideas From Southern Living
Home Decor Ideas From The Southern Living Idea House
I am so fortunate this year to live near the Southern Living Idea House. A day trip up to Amelia Island is an easy way for me to get to tour this gorgeous home and come away with all kinds of home decor ideas for my southern home!

Living Room:
A comfy sofa, this one is from Lee Industries. It is covered in Sulton Pebble fabric.
The chairs flanking the fireplace are also from Lee Industries, this time in Sanibel Ocean fabric with Smoke finish. I don’t know if the future owners of this home will want to light a fire in the fireplace, but as for me, I love this look in the firebox. This reminds me a lot of how I use ours in our re-styled fireplace. You can see mine and read all about it in The Fireplace Saga.
Bookcases flanking the living room look custom but are from First Coast Supply. The color of the paint on the bead board in the back of the bookcase is Sherwin Williams SW 9138 – Stardew. The hardware is Providence Knobs from Emtek.
The home’s designer, Heather Chadduck , used Galbraith & Paul’s Seville Medallion fabric on the skirted table. She says this was the “road map” for the home’s classic blue and white palette.
Bedrooms:
The master bedroom on the first floor has the most amazing view out toward the inter coastal waterway. You could actually lie in this bed and watch the boat traffic drift by.
A queen-bedded bedroom is found on the second floor, a peaceful retreat with an ensuite bathroom. Are you feeling inspired and full of home decor ideas yet?
This twin bedded bedroom is a perfect way to style a guest room. This room is elegant and yet, warm and welcoming.
Add exquisite bed linens to a bedroom for a true luxury experience. Head over to Frette for beautiful linens to add an elegant touch to your bedrooms.
The natural light flows into the upper bunk in this room through transom windows that bring in that light from the hallway near the upper porch.
A closet sized bunk room might be small, but it is not lacking anything in charm and style.
I have so many more photos and ideas to share with you of the bathrooms, the kitchens and more. Check out the amazing porches at the Southern Living Idea House at Outdoor Spaces at the Southern Living Idea House. I will be sharing those again as well as some of the special events that are going to be happening at the Idea House before it closes to the public later this year.
Do you know the source of the brick on the fireplace on the screen porch?
I looked it up to see if I could find it. They don’t give that information in their publication about the house. You could contact Heather Chadduck – she is the designer for the house. You can google her.
