Crane island is beautiful.  I have said that Florida is the one place where you have to go North to get to the South.  This is definitely “the South”.  This low lying land that gives way to marshlands and then to the sea coast.  With the sub-tropical climate, opportunities for outdoor living are extensive at the Southern Living Idea House.

Screen Porch:

This screened patio is off of the Master Bedroom.  Comfortable furniture, a fireplace for cool winter evenings makes the perfect spot for enjoying a quiet evening together.

How lovely to have a bar nearby, well stocked with beverages and snacks.  This will keep you from having to make multiple trips from the kitchen.
h3 data-lazy-srcset=Dining Porch:

As you leave the screen porch on the side of the house, you transition to the back porch.  The view of the marshes and the inter-coastal waterway is priceless.

Alfresco dining is natural and a lovely table and elegant chairs make it comfortable on the back porch.

Rear Porch:

The main area of the back porch offers comfortable seating under cover and additional shade by SunSetter.  This view looks in toward the indoor dining area.  To the right is the living room with its bi-fold out swinging doors.

Underfoot is this gorgeous decking.  This is Zuri Premium Decking in Weathered Gray.  My husband and I think this might be just the decking we have been looking for to transform our porch floor.

Swinging Porch:

How lovely are the colors on these pillows that make the swinging beds on the swinging porch comfy and inviting.  You are never far from that view, either.  A pair of these swing beds flank this upper story porch.  Notice the detail of the black rod above the solid railing on the sides of the porch.  This cozy spot is just off of the upstairs game room.  I think this is my favorite spot in the entire house!

I realized I forgot to share the floor plan.  Hopefully this will give you an idea of the flow of this house!  There will be more of the game room, bunk room and additional bathrooms coming soon!

    1. It was such a treat to get to tour this amazing home! I took a few moments on that swing myself! Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment! I love hearing from my readers!

    1. It is so fantastic Rita! I wouldn’t take the house as is, but I would take the outdoor spaces in a hot minute! It was a gray rainy day, so I am not sure if they get too much sun on the covered back porch, but if they do, that shad is a great addition!

  1. So many wonderful outdoor spaces! I vote for that porch decking material, beautiful! Loved your comment about having to go north in Florida to get South! Crane island looks amazing! What city do you live in Chloe?

    1. I live in Celebration which is the Disney developed New Urban Community. Officially we are a part of Kissimmee, Florida. Before 1990 it was mostly swampland. They are just beginning to develop Crane Island. I would love to move up to that part of the state, but alas, my husband flies for business at least once a week and you can’t beat Orlando for non-stop flights to almost everywhere. We have a relatively quiet (by Florida standards) toll road right from our community to the airport…20 minutes non-stop! n Oh yes, I say when driving North, when you hit Jacksonville or Ocala, you have arrived in the South! I am planning a Saturday bloggers lunch in January and would love to have you visit if it isn’t too, too far for you to come!

  2. I love the multiple porches in this house. The outdoor fireplace, swinging daybeds, beautiful floors and breathtaking views are my favorite features. What a dreamy house! It must’ve been a fun tour, Chloe. Thanks for sharing with us!

I didn’t capture it, but there was a big boat that went by while we were in the house. Thank you for taking a moment to let me know that you enjoyed this post. I always love hearing from my readers!
