Whether you’re looking to make a bold statement in your home or create a stunning centerpiece for an event, a thoughtfully designed arrangement brings the rich colors and textures of autumn indoors, allowing you to enjoy its splendor all season long. In this post, I’ll guide you through the process of crafting an opulent fall arrangement, combining lush pampas grass, faux greenery, and a variety of vibrant faux flowers in shades of orange, green, and burgundy. I had decided I wanted to make a pair of arrangements for either end of my mantel this year. As I looked around my home for two large containers, I settled on these chinoiserie jars that usually sit with their lids on my dining room table. To recreate this look, shop your own home for some oversized and elegant containers. If you cannot find something, head out to the thrift stores to hunt some down! Home Goods is also a great source for these kind of jars.

Fill the bottom of your jar with some plastic grocery bags or crumpled up paper and then add a few blocks of dry floral foam. These can be pieces you have used before as long as they are not crumbling.

Begin by adding your tallest elements and anything you want draping over the side. This is a faux ginkgo stem and some faux greenery cascading over the side.

Next you will want to add additional tall elements towards the back of your arrangement. A couple of stems of eucalyptus and a branch of faux magnolia leaves will give you the height you want.

Incorporate any dried materials for a true fall look and a little more natural look to your arrangement. Pampas grass is a great filler for this purpose.

It is time to start adding flowers. A brown hydrangea looks as if it has been dried and added to the arrangement as are a couple of beige magnolia blossoms.

Another hanging bush with some burgundy shades to it can be shaped the way you want it to look.

Time to go for the show! Add brightly colored dahlias, sunflowers and fall leaves to your arrangement! Fill it until you are happy with how it looks. At this point I like to put my arrangement where it will be displayed and study it.

My arrangement will be on one end of my mantel and I could see a few spots where it needed a few more items. Don’t be afraid to pull things out and add additional ones wherever you feel your arrangement needs them. This arrangement looks good, but when I add the rest of the mantel decor it will really pop!
