I am at a very exciting time in my life, getting ready to move into a wonderful new house. I can’t wait to start decorating and sharing it all with all of you, my wonderful readers, but in the meantime, I am so busy packing, I have not a spare moment to blog. This Baby Shower with an Alice in Wonderland theme is by far the most popular, most pinned and most viewed of all my posts, so I am bringing it to you again today, perhaps you weren’t following Celebrate and Decorate back when I hosted this party. I know my photography skills have improved a lot since then, but if theme parties are to your liking, this one should be a theme you host once in your lifetime! Everyone had a wonderful time at the Alice in Wonderland – themed Baby Shower I hosted for my niece. I incorporated lots of fun and bright colors throughout the party space. To cover large pictures on the walls, and add fun and color to the decor, I created crepe paper backdrops, or hung lace fabric panels. No one even knew there were large pictures behind the party backdrops!
Silver chargers recycled by being painted pastel colors and then had circles of Alice – themed papers Mod Podged onto them. Teapots of colorful flowers were displayed on raised cake plates, while the table was scattered with pages from an Alice in Wonderland book, keys, ceramic mushrooms and tiny glass bottles.
Colorful flowers were arranged in teapots set upon footed cake plates all down the table.
Individual beverage bottles adorned with washi tape, colorful paper straws and “Drink Me” tags from Anders Ruff, begged guests to fill them up. Colorful straws and paper lanterns can be found at Oriental Trading Company.
Fun and colorful hats were on display throughout the party space. You can learn how to create the crepe paper backdrops here.
An assortment of cookies were offered, notice the teacup cookies say “drink me” and the hearts say “eat me” to incorporate the Alice in Wonderland theme. Cookies were displayed on a table with colorful hats, a painted mushroom, Alice in Wonderland quotes printed and placed in brightly painted frames, along with a hedgehog hoping the Queen of Hearts doesn’t pick him for a game of croquet.
I had a delightful time throwing this Baby Shower, I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I would love to see pictures of your Alice in Wonderland – themed event!
