Embrace the Season with a Casual Summer Tablescape

As the warm embrace of summer approaches, it’s time to shed the layers of winter and embrace the vibrant hues and joys of the season. What better way to celebrate the sun-kissed days and balmy evenings than by hosting an alfresco gathering with friends and family? And what better canvas to express the essence of summer than a colorful outdoor tablescape?

Creating a captivating alfresco tablescape is not just about setting a table; it’s about curating an experience that engages all the senses and evokes the spirit of hospitality.

The fun pattern of Bico Blossom Symphony works perfectly for a casual summer table. I layered a terra cotta linen tablecloth with raffia palm placemats.

The unique vases were a find from Ikea! They give a bit of a mid-century modern style to my table.

Add visual interest and depth to your tablescape by layering different textures and patterns. Mix and match table linens, such as a brightly colored tablecloth paired with placemats from a natural material like these raffia palm ones. I used wooden handled utensils to add another natural element to my table setting.

For this casual table I limited my glassware to simple pink glass tumblers coordinating with the pink blossoms on the dinner and salad plates.

Medium blue napkins were simply knotted and tucked near each place setting to continue the casual theme. Once again, I used colorful linens to coordinate with the bold dinner and salad plates.

The alfresco setting was perfect for this casual meal. The magnolias are just starting to bloom with their sweet, citrusy fragrance perfumes my little corner of the world!

The three vases of flowers I used for centerpieces are loose and organic exuding a carefree charm with their effortless beauty.

I always like to add a little something to each place setting, and these adorable coffee mugs made perfect vases for host leaves and colorful baby’s breath.

The flowers came from Trader Joe’s but the hosta leaves I added to my table are from my yard! I would normally never buy the “Unicorn” painted baby’s breath, but it was just perfect for pairing with the Blossom Symphony plates.

Remember, the key to a successful summer alfresco tablescape is to let your creativity and imagination run wild! Whether you’re hosting an intimate gathering or a lively soirée, infuse your tablescape with colors, textures, and elements that capture the essence of summer and create an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. So, gather your loved ones, bask in the warmth of the season, and let your alfresco tablescape be a celebration of summer’s splendor!
