Organizing Your Home and a Link Party

Organizing your home is something that is always there, always needs to be done, but there is something about putting all of the Christmas decor that moves organizing your home to the top of the “to do” lists.  I can’t tell you what a mess I have been dealing with since moving into my new home.  I had a storage unit when I lived in the smaller condominium, which kept all of the mess out of site.  There was also the problem that I didn’t know what I had and where it was, so when I got ready to host a party or a dinner, I would often go out and buy something that I knew I already had, but I had no idea where it was.  Has this ever happened to you?

Getting Organized CollageI have gotten all my napkins, my fabric, my tablecloths and my paint organized!  Yay!  How?  I headed to Pinterest and search organizing craft rooms!  My tablecloths are hanging in a guest room closet, my fabric is hanging in another closet (thank goodness this house has so much storage)!  My napkins are all tucked neatly on end in drawers and my paint is in a neat little tray in a cubby.  Oh, and I organized all of my ribbons!  I took them all off of the spools and rolled them around pieces of cardboard and put them in drawers.

The life-changing magic of tidying upYes, a lot is done, but a lot more needs to be done!  Good luck with all of your home organization projects!  I have just ordered this book, the life-changing magic of tidying up for myself, you might want to look into it, too!

  1. That book has certainly been popular, it looks like you’re off to a great start! There are many projects calling my name too, 🙂 thanks so much for hosting~

    1. The only thing I don’t like about the book is that it says to fold all tops and shorts and pants and put them in drawers…I love everything that can hang to hang, then I can open that closet and see it all! Thanks for coming to party!

  2. If only! Oh my gosh this is one area that I really need help, plus more room to store everything. Between my husband’s multicopter hobby and all of my stuff we are filled to the rafters! Like you I used spare closets for my tablecloths and every other nook and cranny I can find for the rest. The book sounds interesting I’ll have to check it out.

    1. Sandra, there were two things that made this house “the one” over another one we were considering, and it was all of the storage! Besides our master bedroom and closet, we have two huge walk in closets, a step in closet AND a walk in pantry! I will eventually show them all, when I am a little further along!

  3. great ideas for organization. I am still sorting through the Christmas decorations because I’m still dreaming of our trip to Japan. (our son’s wedding) After being away for a month and returning just in time for the holidays I needed to scramble and get the house and myself ready for our annual Christmas dinner that I host every year(with my sisters, nieces etc. Now I must stop dreaming and start to organizing!

    1. How wonderful the trip to Japan must have been! I am struggling with new blog posts and organizing, but I think I am coming down the home stretch! Have a wonderful dinner with family, and congratulations to the happy couple!

      1. Thank you, my husband took 1500 pictures but I haven’t had a chance to post them yet. There is some on my facebook that family and friends posted if you want to have look.
