A Bee Themed Table on the Porch

A Bee Themed Table on the Porch

For those of us in Florida, we have already enjoyed many meals out on the porch.  I have had my bee skeps sitting on the table on the front porch, which decided the bee themed table this particular evening. This table was all about layers, purposely planned out.  Place settings began with sisal placemats that mimicked the texture of the homemade bee skeps used as centerpieces.

Crafted bee skeps are perfect decor for summertime and can be adorned with the cutest little accents.  Bee printed ribbons and tiny felted bees dressed them up.  Artificial yellow gerbera daisies rounded out the decor for the table.

A set of four tiny tea plates all had their own unique bee themed pattern on them.

I had planned on serving up some tiny bee cakelets from my Nordic Ware bee themed pan, but I really didn’t like how they turned out.  I hope to find a recipe and share them with you in the coming weeks.  These elegant salad plates are from Williams Sonoma.  I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go with gold or white dinner plates.  My Facebook tablescape group was ready to step up and voted for the gold!  These dinner plates are the Paramount dinner plates from Z Gallerie.

Black sculpted chargers coordinated perfectly with the elegant salad plates.  I found these at Amazon, but they don’t seem to be available any longer.

I really wanted to get four of these bee dish towels from Joann’s, but could only locate three for curbside pick up.  i managed to use one beneath my skep centerpiece and cut the others up to add as a layer to my black napkins.  The black and yellow colors really pop with the addition of the gold dinner plates and gold flatware.

I used two very different sized glasses for my table.  Little water glasses with gold bees from Williams Sonoma Home.  Wine glasses were my gold dipped wine glasses, a long ago purchase from Home Goods.  I use these often, like for my Elegant St. Patrick’s Day tablescape

How adorable are these little felted bees?  I used them to decorate my DIY Bee Skeps

Surprise your guests by adding a flower with a tiny bee on it to your napkin rings!
