Blue and White Coastal Tablescape on the Front Porch!

Blue and White Coastal Tablescape

Today I set the table for dinner on the porch with basic elements for a blue and white coastal tablescape.  I picked up this throw sometime ago at Home Goods.  The throw looks great in my family room draped over a high backed chair.  I love the variety of blues on it.  Today I thought, hey!  That would make a great tablecloth!

White everyday dishes were just right and I wasn’t even sure I was going to add chargers, but when I grabbed a few coastal accents from around the house, I knew it was time to get out my seashell chargers.  You can see my step by step tutorial for How to Make Seashell Chargers.

A centerpiece doesn’t have to be something extravagant.  I simply picked up a few accent pieces from around my house, a candle holder of seashells, a faux buoy, a nautical monkey’s fist knot and a couple of extra bottles of little seashells were all that were needed to give the table a coastal vibe.

Napkin rings are actually dollar store plastic napkin rings I had glued starfish to for a previous table.

Everyday woven napkins topped white salad plates with a nautical rope pattern around the rim.

Pioneer Woman gray handled flatware was an easy choice for flatware since it blends so well with my tablecloth throw.   Ice tea glasses from Home Goods are plain glasses with wicker wraps.  These are great for summertime, so you can keep a grip on the cold glasses,  I am so glad I spotted that throw in the family room today and decided to set a blue and white coastal tablescape.  Dinner will be served on the front porch!

  3. This is a great combination, Chloe. I love the textural appeal in the shells on the chargers, the fringe on the napkins, the nubby look on the throw, and the wicker on the glasses. The blue, cream and brown really looks sharp together.

  7. I really need to get a move on with the seashell chargers. Store bought ones are ridiculously expensive and yours are prettier than any I’ve seen. I love the simple centerpiece and the throw was a great addition. Can’t beat shopping your home!

    1. I liked mine so much better than the store-bought ones I have seen, too. I had a couple of shells pop loose so I re-applied with E-6000 adhesive and have had no more problem!

  8. I enjoyed checking out each detail and texture you used for your table. Together they make a relaxing beachy table for us land-locked folks. I like using throws for tables – they bring a new twist to already good ideas. Yours must be extra wide, because mine don’t always drape on all sides.

  9. Beautiful table Chloe! I love all your beach accents and the throw was genius! And those shell chargers… You have created such a calm and casual beach vibe and I’m sure anyone would be delighted to join you at your lovely table!
