The View from Foxglove Hill: A Little Halloween Magic
It may still feel like summer outside, but everywhere I look, pumpkins, ghosts, and witches are beginning to appear! Halloween decorating seems to start a little earlier every year, and this year is certainly no exception. Since so many of you are already looking for seasonal inspiration, I thought this would be the perfect time to gather some of my favorite Halloween decorating ideas—from playful little ghosts to dark and dramatic tablescapes.
This moody Halloween tablescape is dramatic without being too frightening. See all the details in my Dark and Spooky Halloween Tablescape.

This bubbling Halloween cauldron is much easier to create than it might appear! A black cauldron is overflowing with colorful ornaments in shades of purple, green, orange, white, and black, that create the look of a magical potion brewing inside. A few creepy spiders add the finishing touch. It is a playful DIY that makes a big statement on a hearth, porch, or party table—and it can be customized with ornaments you already have on hand.

Halloween décor does not always have to be dark and gloomy! This playful display gives traditional spooky accents a pretty pink makeover, pairing a pink skull with soft pink pumpkins and a glittery black spider. The unexpected color palette feels whimsical, feminine, and just a little creepy—proof that Halloween can be styled to complement any home or decorating personality.

This week finds me up in Ohio for a few days before I head back home to the heat and humidity of Georgia. As much as I enjoy being here, the one I miss most is my sweet Lily. Judging by this photo of her curled into the tightest little ball on our bed, however, I am not entirely sure she is missing me quite as much! She looks perfectly content holding down the fort—and perhaps enjoying having a little extra room on the bed.

I haven’t shared many photos of the new house yet, but this staircase is one feature I cannot wait to change. It begins immediately inside the front door, then splits and descends in two different directions—only to lead to essentially the same room downstairs! My plan is to replace it with one simple staircase going in a single direction. Not only will that make the layout feel much less complicated, but it will also allow me to reclaim some valuable floor space in the foyer. I can already imagine how much more open and welcoming the entrance will feel!

I haven’t added much new Halloween décor to my collection this year, but I could not resist treating myself to this wonderfully spooky light-up haunted house! I had a little fun using AI to create the eerie backdrop you see here, but the haunted house itself is the real star. If you love it as much as I do, be sure to get yours before it disappears!

That is a little glimpse of life at Foxglove Hill this week—from Halloween inspiration and a cozy Lily to plans for changing the new house. I will be back in Georgia soon, where there will undoubtedly be more projects, decorating, and perhaps a few more pumpkins waiting for me!
