Having a front porch was never my dream.  Then I owned a house with a great wrap around front porch!  I would not trade away my front porch for anything now.  There are no rolling green hills or majestic mountains to view from my porch, but I still spend plenty of time out there!  When we bought the house, this is how it looked.  Good bones, brick style pavers and a green door and green shutters.  Can you tell how the porch wraps around the edges of the house?  Wicker sofa on the front porchWhen looking at the house to the left the space on the porch is a little wider than that on the right.  This is the roomier side.  Blue and white cabana striped double chaise with patriotic pillows. This double chaise from Pottery Barn was something we brought from a previous home.  This replaced the wicker sofa that previous owners had on the wider side of the porch.  Indoor outdoor rugs make the space feel more like an outdoor room. Of course, I would much rather have a porch swing like this one, but for now, I will live with the chaise that we already own.
Last summer I discovered this fabulous furniture at Pier 1 and it was time to properly style the porch!  This is where I love to style many of my outdoor tablescapes. Talking about tablescapes, don’t forget that the Welcome Summer Tablescape Blog Hop is still going on!  Make sure you stop and visit these great sites!

Traditional porch decorated for the 4th of July

My home is the entry to my home and sets the scene for the rest of my home.  It is casual, yet welcoming and decorated in blue and white!  I really love decorating the front porch for the holidays like how I decorated it last year.Blue front door on a pretty brick porch. This is how my front porch looks on an ordinary day.  A blue front door beckons guests to be welcomed in style.  A pair of boxwood topiaries frame the door along with two other plants, all in blue pots.  The stairs are lined with candles that come on automatically every evening and pots of ivy.  We have automatic watering tubes on all of these pots. Fourth of July decorations on a front porch.

The Fourth of July will bring lots of patriotic decorations and anything red, white and blue!

Fall decorated front door

In the Fall you will find fall colors, pumpkins and gourds all over my porch and perhaps around my frond door.  Christmas decorated front door

Of course come Christmas my front porch is decorated to the nines!  What is better at Christmastime than a drive or a stroll through a neighborhood with front porches and front doors bedecked with Christmas decorations?  I will be taking you indoors in the coming weeks, sharing each room one at at time!  I hope you will follow along!  Now, if you have one, maybe it is time to go outside and have a beverage on your front porch!

  1. Your porch is gorgeous, I love all the white wicker pieces. I grew up in an old farmhouse with a huge front porch. We were outside there most of the summers. Love all the seasonal touches!

  2. Your porch is beautiful! We just have a small front porch with just enough room for a welcome mat and a couple potted plants. I would LOVE a porch like yours where we could sit out and enjoy an iced tea. It looks like you enjoy using yours and I love all the ways you have decorated it!

  3. What a great space for tricking out all the seasons in style! Love that furniture you added from Pier 1, and what a perfect place for tablescaping! Is there a pollen season in Central FL? With trees and plants blooming year-round, I am wondering what kind of maintenance you have on a porch? With a dormant winters here, I always have spring cleanup for sure, with pollen and over-wintered leaves being the worst of it.

  4. I love your wrap around front porch Chloe…and you decorate it so beautifully. It is perfect for entertaining as you have shown in many of your tablescapes. You need to check out that swing…it would be a great addition to your homey porch….and the ability to decorate/accessorize it endless.

  5. You’ve created a very special outdoor living space that is so comfy and cozy. This gives you so many decorating opportunities. Dining and lounging from the comfort of this space must feel amazing.
