Alice in Wonderland Invitations
You just can’t host an Alice in Wonderland themed party without a fun and fanciful invitation, can you? Begin with a long scrolled invitation with all of the details and all kinds of fun images of Alice, teapots, the White Rabbit and more! Use fun colors and fonts to add to the festive feel of the invitation.

Glue both ends of the scroll to little wooden dowels with knobs glued to both ends. Roll up the scroll and tie it with a pretty ribbon. For extra fun, add on a key and a note that says, “read me”.

Tuck those invitations on a mossy patch (perhaps cut from near the rabbit hole). Put it all in nice box and you are ready to move on.

Don’t forget to address the invitation in the same fun spirit of the surprise inside! Mail it off and wait for the fun reactions from your friends and family!

Keep in mind you can do something similar for any theme, just get creative and keep your concept in mind! If you need any ideas, feel free to email me or leave a note in the comment section below! For further information, see: Alice in Wonderland Party Baby Shower Invitations.
Creative Halloween Party Invitations
Halloween is a fun holiday with so many ideas for themes! Think ghosts, skeletons, candy corn, vampires, monsters, haunted house, sinister circus and more!! I hosted a dinner party where guests were asked to attend as ghosts. I didn’t want to just send out a paper invitation…so read on!
I found these coffin shaped boxes on Amazon and decided to use these to hold my invitations.

I cut little pieces of creepy gauze cloth to add to the inside of each box.

Print out your invitation on any kind of creepy paper with spooky fonts with all of the details.

Roll up the paper invitations and tuck them inside one of the little coffin boxes along with the piece of gauze.

Wine Bottle Invitations
This is one of the favorite invitations that I have now used for my own parties and to create invitations for friends’ events multiple times. I first used this for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary celebration.
Collect empty wine bottles for the number invitations you will need, wash them and remove all of the labels. Use a Cricut or Silhouette machine (or do like I did and ask someone who is handy with theirs!) to cut out letters for your wine bottle. An alternative is to print out a faux label with their names on it, such as the, “Bernardi Family Winery, est. 1965”. Make it extra special by stamping a lightly inked rubber stamp of a cluster of grapes on the label.

Print out your invitation on some parchment paper and roll it up tightly enough that it will slip down inside the bottle. Tie it with a ribbon as shown.

It is very important that you don’t let the invitation get stuck in the bottle, so leave one end of your ribbon long enough to hang out of the bottle. Use sealing wax to ‘glue’ the ribbon to the bottle and stamp it with a wine or grape themed seal.

Your invitations are now ready to deliver! These are obviously easier to deliver by hand to friends and neighbors, but if you need to mail some, here are some boxes that work really well. If you mail them, think about stamping the outside of the box with the same grape rubber stamp to complete the theming.

Out of Africa Party Invitations
My friend, Mary who writes at Life at Bella Terra styles some amazing and creative tables for a special function every year. She adds all of the memorable details and begins with some extraordinary invitations. This summer she hosted an Out of Africa (1920’s theme) table for this charitable event.
She had her daughter

Isn’t that a great idea? Get creative with your invitations and party ideas. For more details, see Mary’s post at: Out of Africa 1920 Themed Event.
A Library or Book Themed Invitation
One of Mary’s previously themed tables was Dinner in the Library. Mary got these lovely Bee Dictionary Art Cards from Hester and Cook and used them for those invitations! If this theme is up your alley, you must check out the amazing place cards she created too!

Chloe, I love your invitation suggestions and photos! Makes me want to have a Halloween party this year. Also, thanks for the shout out to my two dinner party themes. Can you imagine what we could create if we lived next to each other?!? Miss you, my friend.
You are so creative Chloe – this are all marvelous! Thanks for the fabulous ideas – I’m already thinking of how I can elevate the invitations for my next party!
Thanks so much Barbara! I love setting the mood well before the party with a creative invitation!
I love the invitations and party themes but I laughed when I saw the coffin. At my age if I received that in the mail, I might get nervous. I watched the lemon floral arrangement video. Very pretty. I think you said your husband owned a florist at one time. Why don’t use use moss to cover the foam? I went to floral school for a year to learn the rules and shapes even though I have designed for 60 years. I can still hear the teacher saying “Cover your mechanics”
