Shopping in the Hamptons for Coastal and Nautical Home Decor

Welcome to my last post about my beautiful weekend in the Hamptons. Please make sure you check out my posts about the anniversary party, beach party, rose garden and homes of the Hamptons.

I had such a wonderful time exploring the shops in Southampton.  There is no doubt I could spend the majority of my time and money there.  I fell in love with Hildreth’s Home Goods.  This store truly has it when it comes to home goods.  There is bedding and furniture, hostess gifts and toys, and everything tabletop.  They had candles and sewing supplies, lamps and area rugs, everything you might need for your home.

Hildreth's Whole Home ConceptThey say it best in this sign which I spotted as I walked down the stairs from one of their furniture galleries.    There is such history in this great store that has been operated by the same family for 13 generations, opening in 1842.

Above is a picture of the Southampton store at 51 Main Street, Southampton, all decked out for the Fourth of July.

Tabletop linens at Hildreth'sLook at the array of nautical and beach inspired linens!  I could be happy with winning the lottery and heading here to shop!  I didn’t know what I wanted for my new home, but I did pick up a few things for the sailboat!

Coastal console table

I had to get a picture of this console table, it is so long, just what I might need if I decide to go with a long sofa.  This view gives an idea of the multitude of items they have at Hildreth’s, like the wall of fabrics they have for custom order upholstery.Bar and stools at Hildreth's

As the decorating comes along in the new home, the above table just might find a place there.  I am glad I have a picture in case I can’t get back to the Hamptons to shop.

Beachy Artwork

A trip to Hildreth’s would have you discovering all the coastal themed artwork you could want.  All you need is the beach house to hang it in.  This picture of the beach chairs is a little too beachy for our house that is an hour from the beach, but if I had that beach house, I think this would find a wall to be hung on.

Hildreth's bed linen section

The picture above shows just part of one room of just bed linens.  Hildreth has sales staff, decorators and designers all ready to help you make decisions and selections for your home.

Child size chaise

Of course there are quite a few just plain frivolous things that one would like to have, but really don’t need. Like this adorable child size sun chaise along with a little sun umbrella to keep your tots shaded while they relax beachside.  I am not sure who has a child who would sit still long enough to relax in a chaise, but it would be a conversation piece at least.

Whale shelf from Hildreth's

Perhaps you need a whale shaped shelf in your house.  My sister says if she lived in New England she might put this in her house.  This would be a fun addition to a nursery or little boy’s bedroom.
